It’s hard to find a bright side to the Brexit vote. Over the past two days, U.S. markets dropped about 4.5%, but let me add a bit of perspective here. As of this writing, June 28th, the S&P is down just a tad more than 1.0% year to date. Even international stocks, first battered by the slowdown in China, and now by Europe’s woes, are down less than 10 percent. Bonds are up a bit. This is well within the range of “normal” market volatility. The upshot at this point, as is always the case, is that we can’t predict what happens next, much less when. So if you’re objectives are long term, my advice remains “hang in there.”
