Overview:

The New York Branch activity is oriented to wholesale banking and is divided between Treasury and Business Development operations.

Treasury operations are coordinated with head-office with a focus on:

   * Diversification of funding sources, both in the medium/large corporates and institutional money markets;

   * Diversification of investments, mostly in quasi-government instruments, with various maturity and interest rate profiles;

   * Interest rate risk management for the Branch's portfolio.

The Business Development side of operations focuses its activity on the North American corporate credit:

   * Participation in primary and secondary credit markets;
   * Diversification of credit exposures across the credit spectrum, from investment grade to high-yield;

The Latin American markets, where there is a particularly close relationship with BESI Brazil, are another center of attention of Business Development operations:

   * Leveraging credit relationships;
   * Distribution of syndicated loans;
   * General deal structuring.
