Overview:

In the past twenty years, Ireland, and in particular, Dublin, has grown to be a substantial financial services centre and is probably the largest alternative investment and hedge fund administration centre in the world. It has achieved this following the creation of the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), alongside both the proactive support of the Irish Government and an attractive standard rate of corporation tax, currently 12.5%.

Many multi-national companies are now located in Ireland. The headquarters of the Custom House Group of Companies (Custom House) was located in Dublin since its inception in 1989, until Equity Trust's fund services division and Custom House merged in 2008. Now, however, the Malta office is the official HQ, although a significant presence in the Irish capital remains.

The primary activity for Custom House is the provision of a full administration service to alternative investment funds, including private equity, real estate and venture capital funds, as well as hedge funds and 24/5 managed account platforms. Associated activities include the provision of corporate secretarial and director services and full registrar and transfer agency (shareholder) services.

Custom House's Irish operation provides services to Equity Trust's global client base, particularly on products such as private equity and real estate funds. Custom House provides the administration of the main fund and Equity Trust provides the day-to-day administration of the SPVs and management companies required by the fund structure.
