ABN AMRO Bank N.V.

Overview:

In late 2007, RBS successfully led the consortium bid for ABN AMRO. Building on our already extensive relationships with corporates, financial institutions and governments in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific, the ABN AMRO transaction will extend our presence to more than 50 countries, improving our ability to meet your needs around the globe. This integration will bring considerable strengths in equities, corporate finance/advisory, emerging markets and transaction banking (cash management and trade finance).
A leading local capital markets bank

ABN AMRO are the leading debt capital raising bank in Turkey ('Debt House of the Year', Euromoney, July 2005 and July 2007) with on-the-ground origination and execution capabilities in loan syndications, securitisation, structured trade and commodity finance and debt capital markets. ABN AMRO are also one of the only foreign banks in Turkey with a full local team of mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance professionals, located in Istanbul.

ABN AMRO’s financial leasing operation was established in 1999 as a wholly owned subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. The local team of professionals are a leader in larger structured financial leasing transactions, and were the fastest growing financial leasing company in Turkey in 2006.
Opening new branches

In 2007, we undertook an organic growth strategy to expand our business in the commercial client segment in Turkey. Aiming to be one of the leading commercial banks in the country, ABN AMRO Turkey opened nine branches in the year.

The new locations in Turkey's major urban centres enhance our ability to market, service and monitor a far wider and deeper client segment. The branches will house client facing staff with all other service and support functions centralised in Istanbul. The branches will extend ABN AMRO's current leading position with larger Turkish corporates and financial institutions
