Overview: 

Poland has always played a very significant role in BNP Paribas strategy. The Group has been operating in Poland since 1990 when Banque Nationale de Paris opened its first representative office in Warsaw. In 1994 the banking joint venture BNP-Dresdner Bank (Polska) S.A. was established between BNP Paribas and Dresdner Bank AG. In July 2001 the bank became a 100% subsidiary of BNP Paribas and changed its name into BNP Paribas Bank Polska. In January 2006 it was transformed into a branch of BNP Paribas.

BNP Paribas Branch in Poland is focused on corporate and investment banking for the largest Polish and multinational companies as well as financial institutions and local governments. The bank provides them with direct access to international expertise and sources of financing, combined with intimate and up-to-date knowledge of local conditions.

Through specialised subsidiaries of the BNP Paribas Group, other services are provided such as securities services, insurance, leasing and fleet management. In May 2009 Fortis Bank joined BNP Paribas under the name BNP Paribas Fortis, .since May 2011 rebranded to BNP Paribas Bank Polska. It provides banking and financial services both for individual and corporate clients.
