Woori Bank

Overview:

Woori Bank with its Hanoi Representative Office first came to Vietnam in 1995. After receiving the approval from the State Bank of Vietnam ( the Central Bank ) in September 1997, Woori Bank Hanoi Branch was set up to meet the growing needs of Vietnamese emerging economy and to further develop the economic tie between Vietnam and Korea.

Right from the beginning, Hanoi Branch had faced many challenges in its efforts to stand firmly in the considerable disruption created by regional financial crisis . We are of 15 staff members always doing our best to bring satisfaction to our customers and to increase our business continuously. We currently and have no non-performing loans.

We believe in the next few years when the trade agreement between Vietnam and the US comes effective, Woori Bank Hanoi Branch will be able to offer more banking services to customers.

Woori Bank Hochiminh Representative Office was established in December 2002 under the approval of the State Bank of Vietnam (the Central Bank). Its main scope of activities are:
- To operate as a liaison office and conduct market research
- To prepare and promote Woori Bank in Vietnam
- To promote and monitor the implementation of contracts, agreements signed between Woori Bank and other banks in Vietnam in accordance with Vietnamese Law
* After 3 years in Hochiminh city, Woori Bank Ho Chi Minh Office was upgraded into a Branch in December 2005 in order to meet the growing needs of the emerging Vietnamese economy and to further strengthen economic ties between Vietnam and South Korea.
