    Founded as Bank Aufina, Brugg, in 1953. Acquired by General Electric from Union Bank of Switzerland in 1997. Renamed GE Capital Bank in 1999, after merger with Banque Procrédit SA, Fribourg (establ. 1912), which GE acquired from Swiss Bank Corporation in 1998. Name changed to GEFS (Suisse) AG in 2005. Current name adopted in 2006. Provides leasing and credit to Swiss consumers and small and medium-size businesses.
