Wise & CCIB

Overview:

When Marsh & McLennan took the strategic decision to close its offices in Beijing in 1990, WISE was permitted to establish its own representative office in Beijing to become the first Taiwanese insurance broking firm to have a presence in China. The office relocated to its current address in Shanghai from Beijing in 2002.
In 2000, the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) began to give examinations for licensing insurance brokers in that country. Our Ms. Lainey Chen, Executive Vice President of WISE, took the exam and became the first non-local Chinese resident to pass the exam and obtained the Chinese Insurance Broker license in 2000.

Since the establishment of Chang Cheng Insurance Brokers Ltd. (CCIB) in 2000, being one of the first three local insurance brokering companies licensed by the CIRC, WISE has been working very closely with them. To further enhance our relationship, WISE Taiwan became a shareholder of CCIB, the only foreign shareholder.

In order to fully comply with laws of the People's Republic of Chine, WISE's China operations have been integrated with Chang Cheng Insurance Brokers Ltd (CCIB). Ms. Lainey Chen, Executive Vice President, has been appointed as the General Manager of CCIB's International Division where she will continue to lead the WISE China service team to ensure high quality of services can be maintained.
