Overview:
Ashurst Washington DC opened in March 2009 with a team of lawyers providing structured finance and corporate finance advice. Scott Faga is head of the Washington DC office.
The office advises on a wide variety of structured products and banking instruments including credit, equity and other derivatives, distressed debt, municipal bonds (including gas prepay transactions), tender option bond programs, liquidity facilities and credit enhancement, structured lending, syndicated and bilateral loan facilities, guarantees, letters of credit, funds, CLOs/CDOs, general US securities advice, tax issues and ERISA.
In addition the office advises on a wide variety of lending transactions (including acquisition, senior syndicated, mezzanine, asset-based financings and repo financings) and corporate finance transactions (involving both equity and debt).
Ashurst New York opened in January 2000.
The office provides a US base for the firm's worldwide clients, giving them easy access to lawyers in our European and Asian offices and providing more immediate "face to face" advice and assistance on English and European matters during US hours. The office enables Ashurst to build on our existing relationships and to work closely with local law firms as required.
In March 2009 Ashurst expanded its offering to include US structured finance and related matters. William Gray is head of the New York office.
