Pangea Property Partners have identified an increasing demand by property investors/owners for an independent, experienced, focused and skilled partner in the Nordic property market that delivers on all aspects of property related advisory. Pangea believes our set-up offers exactly this.

Pangea Property Partners was created through a merger between Lundberg & Partners in Sweden and the specialized property corporate finance team from SEB Enskilda in Oslo in August 2009. The total number of employees is currently 45 with 25 operating out of Stockholm and 20 out of Oslo. Our goal is to become the leading property advisory firm in the Nordic property market.

Pangea Property Partners offers a complete portfolio of services and competence within property transactions (purchase and sales advice for commercial property and property development) and corporate finance (IPO, mergers and acquisitions, financial reconstructions and equity capital markets)/debt capital markets). Our services cover the entire property sector including related sectors/sub-sectors like hotel- and development.

Over the last five years, the people behind Pangea Property Partners have advised on and executed more than 300 transactions within the Nordic region totaling a gross value of SEK 214 bn /NOK 184 bn. Further, the team has been involved in raising more than SEK 41 bn /NOK 35 bn in equity capital (for various types of clients including new ventures, established property companies and funds) – equity have been raised for both expansion and financial restructuring evidencing that the Pangea Property Partners team can deliver its clients services in different phases of the business cycle.

The team behind Pangea Property Partners have had the Nordic countries and the Baltic’s as main markets and have over just the last two years participated in the region’s three largest property transactions ever: Vasakronan (SEK 41 bn), Steen & Strøm (NOK 22 bn) and Kungsleden’s sale of Hemsö (SEK 16 bn).

The word “Pangea” is Ancient Greek for “all earth” and is the name of the supercontinent that existed during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras about 250 million years ago.

History:

During Autumn 2008, the listed Swedish property company Kungsleden was seeking an advisor to assist in the sale of 50 per cent of their public portfolio Hemsö AB. The property team of SEB Enskilda and Lundberg & Partners were selected. In three months – at the height of the financial crisis – one of Sweden’s largest property transactions ever, was completed.

The two advisory firms, founded on property transactions respectively property related corporate finance, turned out to complement each other in what both teams found to be a unique way. The intense working effort involved in the Hemsö AB transaction united the teams and the successful result inspired the two to pursue plans for to a continued co-operation.

Hence, during spring 2009 discussions were initiated for an extended partnership. The discussions soon lead to ideas for a new company integrating Lundberg & Partners strengths (history, network and property transaction experience) with that of the SEB Enskilda property team (corporate finance advisory, equity capital markets and debt capital markets expertise) – thus, Pangea Property Partners was founded summer 2009 by the partners of Lundberg & Partners and six people from SEB Enskilda.
