Gemdale was established in 1988, which began to formally operate real estate in 1993. In April 2001, Gemdale (Group) Co., Ltd. was listed in Shanghai Stock Exchange. As of the end of 2009, Gemdale already had owned a lot of holding companies, with total assets of 55.5 billion Yuan and net assets of 16.8 billion Yuan. In 2009, sales volume was up to of 21.1 billion Yuan, with a YoY increase of 85% and net profit interest reached 1.78 billion Yuan, with a YoY increase of 112%. From the listing date to now, the total assets of Gemdale Group, sales turnover, and profit & tax payment have increased by 24 times, 39 times, and 21 times respectively, which has enabled the company to rank among top three listed real estate companies in China.
At present, Gemdale has established regional expansion strategy pattern in East China, South China, North China centered on Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing, which has successfully entered Wuhan, Xi'an, and Shenyang market. Currently, it has reached 16 cities, owned land reserves of 15.48 million square meters, and operated 61 projects in the whole country. In the completed projects, such as Shenzhen Gemdale Golden Bay Garden, Shenzhen Gemdale Honey Hill, Shenzhen Gemdale Mellon Town, Beijing Gemdale Green Town, Beijing Gemdale International Garden, Shanghai Gemdale Vision Trip, Shanghai Gemdale Green County, Wuhan Gemdale Green Town, and Xi'an Gemdale Imperial Garden, they not only achieve outstanding sales performance, but also obtain professional awards due to product innovation and product quality, and its product brand also gains market recognition.
As a leader in real estate, Gemdale takes a lot of first places in real estate industry, which is the first listed company after real estate is released, the first group of enterprises to make successful development in other areas, and the enterprise to explore real estate financial field. The initial offering for Phase I of real estate fund co-launched by Gemdale and UBS (Global Asset Management) was formally completed in 2010, which is the first foreign real estate investment fund successfully launched and collected by the developer in Mainland China.
