History:

Thailand is a land of smiling people and a culture of more than 1000 years. Bangkok metropolis lies on both banks of the Chao Phya, the main river of Thailand and our branch is situated on the Rajawongse Road near Chao Phya river. Bangkok was built in 1782 by the first Monarch King Rama I of the Chakri Dynasty. The present King is � His Majesty King Bhumibhol Adulyadej or King Rama IX. The Thai name of Bangkok is �Krung Thep� meaning �City of Angels�, the same name as Los Angeles. The scenic beauty of Thailand is from its majestic mountains to the magnificent sea.

Our is the only Indian Bank having a branch in Bangkok Bharat Overseas Bank was established in 1973 with our Head Office in Chennai, to takeover the 30 years old branch of Indian Overseas Bank. For the first time in Indian Banking history, a new Private Sector bank was born to save a branch of the Public Sector bank and to ensure continuity of the branch�s services to the existing clientele.
