Overview:

HSBC Private Bank is the marketing name for the private banking business conducted by the principal private banking subsidiaries of the HSBC Group worldwide. HSBC Private Bank, together with the private banking activities of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt, known collectively as Global Private Banking, provides services to high net worth individuals and their families through 95 locations in some 37 countries and territories in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa. At 31 December 2010, profits before tax were US$1.1 billion and total client assets were US$499 billion.

Headquartered in London, HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Its international network comprises some 7,500 properties in 87 countries and territories in Europe; Hong Kong; Rest of Asia-Pacific including the Middle East and Africa; North America and Latin America.

HSBC provides a comprehensive range of financial services to around 100 million customers through four customer groups and global businesses: Personal Financial Services (including consumer finance); Commercial Banking; Global Banking and Markets; and Private Banking.

The HSBC Group had assets of US$2.5 trillion at 31 December 2010, and made an underlying pre-tax profit of US$18.4 billion.
