CBRE came to Brazil in 1979, opening its São Paulo office after identifying Brazil as a promising market with a growing demand for real estate consultancy and a high degree of complexity in property transactions. In little over 28 years CBRE has become Brazil's market leader in the various segments where the company is active. The company has consolidated its position by building credibility in placement and structuring of real estate investments for investors, and over this period has handled the greatest volume of rental operations among all national and international companies. CBRE has represented innumerable transactions for companies where confidentiality and expertise were essential and its technical department has conducted hundreds of valuation studies for the most varied types of property. Finally, the company has strengthened its support structure by adding New Project Development and reinforced its operational structure with an Investment Department advising investors - principally institutional - on their requirements and strategies.

CBRE Brazil has three main Agency departments: National Agency, formed principally to help large groups with divestment plans; Industrial Agency, created to provide owners and developers with consultancy on leasing and selling of industrial properties, as well as tenant representation on relocation process; and Retail, focused on the commercialization of stores, sales of participations and economic and financial feasibility studies of shopping centers.

Today, CBRE is the only consultancy company in Brazil to offer complete professional property services in their most varied aspects, from project conception through to commercialization. Services are provided by highly trained professionals in various technical and commercial departments.

Due to the growing volume of transactions in the real estate market, in 1997 CBRE Brazil opened its office in Rio de Janeiro.

In the past years, the office has attracted a significant number of corporate clients, acquiring a large market share in the Rio de Janeiro office, industrial and retail real estate market.

The Rio de Janeiro team successfully completed approximately US$ 50,000,000 in transactions and currently manages a portfolio of approximately 2 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space.
