Overview:

With today’s modern family complexities nothing speaks louder to our clients than the ability to simplify their lives. Complexity comes in many forms, whether it is in closely held businesses, significant personal assets, estates, or family trusts. Our goal when we started Viridian Investment Management was clear. We sought to remove the complexities of long-term planning and investment management by providing clear, concise advice that allows our clients to seek the lifestyle they desire without unnecessary risk.

In an industry where greed and fear dominate public sentiment – there must be a place to turn to when times of chaos lead to emotional decision making. The ability to stay grounded and provide unbiased and relevant advice only comes after years of experience, technical acumen, and at the forefront – an undying conviction to service client needs.

Viridian in modern English language is best described as the mix between the color blue and green. It comes from the Latin word Viridis, which means to grow green and strong. We feel the name reflects both us and our firm on various levels.

We started Viridian Investment Management in the State of Washington, known as the Evergreen State. Washington’s state tree is also an Evergreen - the Western Hemlock - which is reflected in our logo. The Western Hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla) is a coniferous tree growing from 150 to over 200 feet in height. It is the largest species of its kind and has been recorded to live over 1200 years. We wanted our name and logo to reflect three specific characteristics of us and our company:

Strength, Stamina, and Recognition of our origin here in the Pacific Northwest

While we are still based out of Seattle, WA, we now have expanded our client base in numerous states and various countries. Our name and logo will continue to remind us of our roots but also can be found in some of our business philosophies and practices. For example, we operate mostly via electronic communication with our clients to save on paper products and offer formal, socially responsible investment overlays for our clients' portfolios if they so choose. Our name represents a firm doing business the right way for both our clients and our employees.
