Profile:

Japan's registered securities dealer and a member of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Osaka Securities Exchange, JASDAQ, the Nagoya Stock Exchange, the Sapporo Securities Exchange, and the Fukuoka Stock Exchange.

JASCo represents the culmination of a number of acquisitions that JAHJ made in Japan. Marukin Securities Ltd and Kaneman Securities Ltd (both trading participants of Tokyo Stock Exchange) were amalgamated to function as a single entity under JASCo. Further integration with other acquired brokerages - namely, Unicom Securities , Maruko Daika Securities and Yamagen Securities - was completed in the following year. JASCo now operates over 20 branches, covering the Kanto and Kansai area.

With a large clientele of entrepreneurs and self-made high net-worth individuals, JASCo strives to cater to not just their personal investment needs but their business requirements as well, in terms of M&A opportunities and strategic alliances, etc. Moreover, in line with the Group's Japan-Asia aspirations, JASCo packaged some cross-border equity funds to market to its domestic clients. Some of the most successful funds marketed are:

JA-VP China New Century Fund - Packaged in conjunction with Value Partners , the then best-performing fund manager for Hong Kong equities - Specializing in private-sector listed companies in the PRC, this has been one of the best performing China equities funds in Japan among the players in the same category.

JA-Aberdeen Asia Fund - Created jointly with Aberdeen Asset Management, a well-known asset manager in the region, this was designed to channel Japanese money into Asian equities in established markets such as Singapore.

JA-VP Chugokutairku Focus Fund - Yet another project in collaboration with Value Partners, this fund offers Japanese investors a window to tap renminbi-denominated instruments with a focus on mid- to long-term returns.
