History:

Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. Luxembourg S.A. has been represented in Luxembourg since 1973.

Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. stands upon the foundation of a more than 200-year history. Since it was founded by Salomon Oppenheim jr. in 1789, it has experienced and survived no fewer than eleven political regimes. With the introduction of the euro in 2002, the Bank experienced its seventh currency reform.

Sal. Oppenheim was already active in Luxembourg in the 19th century. The banker Abraham Oppenheim was involved in founding the first bank in the Grand Duchy, the Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL), in 1856. Sal. Oppenheim has been represented with its own bank in Luxembourg since 1973, initially in the form of a joint venture and then as an independent bank since 1993. In 1988 the Bank also founded an investment management and fund administration company in Luxembourg, which became today's Oppenheim Asset Management Services S.à r.l.

Bankhaus Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. and its Luxembourg subsidiaries have been part of the Deutsche Bank Group since March 2010.
