History:

In 1993, a firm called Cornerstone Retail Broker Dealer started doing business in Austin. After changing their name to ProTrader Securities Corp., the firm was sold to New York-based Instinet in 2001. They spun off part of the business into a proprietary trading enterprise, Zone Trading Partners, which went on to become Kershner Trading Group in 2006.

Throughout our history, we’ve focused on acquiring, developing and optimizing technology for our trading floor. We launched our proprietary execution platform Gr8trade® in 1998 and have been growing the platform ever since. In 2007, we acquired Insight Trading Software and shifted the platform to proprietary software to give our traders an edge when monitoring markets.

While we’ve always held our headquarters in Austin, we expanded to New York with a new Midtown office in 2012. A year later, we expanded both our training programs for new traders and our New York presence through a strategic partnership with SMBU and SMB Capital. And in 2015, we further expanded our resources for new traders with the launch of our free CloudQuant tool.
