History:
In 1887 – just 20 short years after Confederation – the two-person law firm of Henderson and McVeity first opened its doors for business in Canada's capital city of Ottawa, Ontario.
The fledgling firm quickly established a strong reputation as a leading authority in intellectual property, and before long, expanded its practice to offer innovative business law and advocacy services.
As the country grew and business diversified, so did the Firm, building a pre-eminence in all of Canada's key industries including: energy, financial services, government, infrastructure, manufacturing, life sciences and technology.
Today, the Firm – now known as Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP – encompasses more than 2,000 people, including more than 750 legal professionals, in offices across Canada, and in Beijing, Moscow and London.
