Founded in 1975 as a boutique consulting firm out of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Bainbridge has experience in crafting strategies for the Fortune 1000, start-ups, and private equity groups. With the evolution of our M&A and private equity practice groups, the firm offers a distinctive product portfolio to our clientele, who consequently discover unique opportunities, develop competitive programs, and realize uncommon results. Bainbridge’s approach to uncovering exceptional opportunities is rooted in our team of talented professionals’ unique approach to Primary-Source Research and Analysis, resulting in fresh strategy, proprietary deal sourcing, and aligned incentives for clients and investors.
Whether identifying M&A opportunities, pursuing investment opportunities, or carefully crafting business strategies, our team has a deep understanding of what drives growth. We look beyond the surface indicators on which other firms rely.
Bainbridge’s strategy consulting business has been one of the top specialists in Fortune 1000 corporate development initiatives over the last decade for international companies such as Coca Cola®, Abbott Laboratories®, Microsoft®, and Yahoo®.
The company’s M&A practice has actively acquired proprietary assets for private equity firms, family offices, and corporate buyers worldwide in energy, high tech, healthcare, services, CPG, and real estate.

History:
In 1975, Dr. Boulton Bainbridge Miller, Ph.D., a professor, consultant, and author, founded Bainbridge as a publishing and consulting arm for his research. Over the years, a group of independent consultants and executives, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professors of business and economics, a corporate attorney, investment bankers, and management consultants decided to work together to provide higher value, results-oriented business advisory services through Bainbridge. The intent was to focus on client results through a unique, fact-based methodology and to hire only the highest-caliber specialists in the world.
In early 2002, when corporate and private equity buyers actively sought out higher quality M&A investment opportunities than they were currently seeing from the larger investment banks, they quietly turned to Bainbridge to leverage our unique methodology and proactive value chain research and acquisition intelligence. This proprietary deal flow was later used to develop a series of joint venture (JV) investments with private capital, specifically in the energy and infrastructure industries, and more recently in real estate and alternative assets.
The partners of Bainbridge integrated these core competencies to create our own in-house series of alternative and real asset investment vehicles to capitalize on the large variety of market opportunities that exist in today’s dislocated and mispriced marketplace.
Since our inception, clients have returned to Bainbridge in recognition of our high quality services and dedication to client satisfaction. These ongoing relationships have formed the core of our practice as we continue to offer customized business solutions developed by some of the brightest, most creative minds in business. |
