History:
2012 – Spencer Stuart opens a new office in Istanbul, launching a presence in Turkey and establishing the firm at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
2011 – Spencer Stuart opens an office in Copenhagen, establishing a presence in Denmark and expanding the firm’s footprint in Scandinavia and northern Europe.
2009 – Spencer Stuart opens an office in New Delhi to expand the firm’s presence in India.
2008 – Spencer Stuart opens an office in Calgary, increasing its presence in Canada.
2007 – Spencer Stuart establishes its Middle Eastern business with the opening of its Dubai office in September.
2006 – Spencer Stuart launches its presence in India, opening an office in Mumbai. The firm also celebrates its 50th anniversary.
2005 – The firm launches a Marketing Officer Practice.
2004 – Spencer Stuart launches a Human Resources Practice. Hunt Scanlon study announces “a watershed event in the search industry,” finding Spencer Stuart the largest and most productive search firm in the U.S.
2003 – Spencer Stuart opens an office in Washington D.C.. Education, Nonprofit & Public Policy and Legal Search practices are launched.
2002 – Spencer Stuart formalizes its Legal Search, Financial Officer and Information Officer practices to provide tailored, functional expertise to clients globally. The firm opens an office in Stockholm.
2001 – The firm formally establishes an Industrial Practice — which brings together the expertise of consultants from 12 separate industry sectors. David S. Daniel becomes CEO.
2000 – Spencer Stuart creates the Diversity Practice, the first of its kind in the search industry.
1998 – The firm launches Global Intelligence®, renamed Spencer Stuart Executive Assessment Services in 2007. This service includes mergers and acquisitions services, leadership assessment, succession planning and talent benchmarking.
1995 – The firm establishes the Financial Services Practice. Today, the practice represents nearly a quarter of Spencer Stuart’s worldwide client base.
1994 – To reinforce our commitment to quality, Spencer Stuart introduces the Client Satisfaction Survey — the first of its kind in the industry — enabling us to further enhance our standards of client service.
1993 – Spencer Stuart opens an office in Johannesburg, its first office in Africa. The firm now has offices on six continents.
1986 – Spencer Stuart forms the industry’s first fully integrated global Life Sciences Practice in response to rising demand for leadership solutions across geographic borders and product and service lines. Since 1993, the firm has recruited more than 3,000 life sciences executives.
1983 – Spencer Stuart is the first executive search firm to establish a dedicated Board Services Practice. As the premier firm for board searches, today we conduct more than half of all board assignments handled through executive search.
1982 – The firm launches its High Technology Practice, now referred to as the Technology, Communications & Media Practice.
1977 – The firm opens its Sao Paulo office, the first of five offices to open in Latin America. Today, Spencer Stuart conducts nearly 250 searches a year throughout the region.
1973 – Founder Spencer R. Stuart steps down as chief executive officer, turning the firm into an international partnership in 1974. Today, Spencer Stuart is the leading privately held search firm owned and governed by its partners.
1970 – Spencer Stuart continues to expand its global network, opening an office in Sydney. Today, the firm has seven offices in the Asia Pacific region. Over the past five years, the firm has completed more than 1,500 searches in the region.
1961 – The firm opens offices in New York and London on the same day.
1959 – Spencer Stuart becomes the first executive search firm to formally establish an international operation with the opening of its Zurich office. Since then, the firm has opened an additional 20 offices throughout Europe.
1956 – Spencer R. Stuart, the firm’s founder, opens the first office in Chicago. The same year, the firm establishes its Consumer Goods & Services Practice. |
