Webster Dyrud Mitchell

Overview:

Webster Dyrud Mitchell is a leading law firm with principal offices in Anguilla, British West Indies, and Nevis, West Indies; and a representative office in Miami, Florida.

Webster Dyrud Mitchell represents a diverse group of local and international clientele, including corporate, private and governmental. Our lawyers are well-known for their expertise in handling financial transactions locally and overseas. Commentators in the market describe our firm as "focused on off-shore financial transactions ... the firm that does the most of this type of work in Anguilla".

Webster Dyrud Mitchell has been, and continues to be, instrumental in the preparation of financial and commercial legislation in Anguilla. The Firm also acted as a catalyst to the liberalization of the telecommunications industry in Anguilla, thereby paving the way to competition.

The firm is a key member of the Anguilla Financial Services Association, the private sector body responsible for shaping the jurisdiction's financial services industry.
History:

Pam Webster first started practice in Anguilla in 1986. John Dyrud joined the firm in 1992
and the partners practiced under the name Webster & Dyrud until the firm adopted its present name in July 1999 when it acquired Mitchell's Chambers, a practice established by Ian Donaldson Mitchell QC in 1980. The firm established offices at Victoria House in 1992 and at Mitchell House on Mr. Mitchell becoming a High Court Judge in 1999.

Mr. Mitchell was appointed as a judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in 1999. He has since retired as a judge and is Chairman of the Integrity Commission established recently in Anguilla.
