Overview:

The General Directorate of Treasury and Financial Policy (DGTPF or Direccion General del Tesoro y Politica Financiera) is a body attached to the Secretary of State
of Economy (superior body of the Ministry of Economy and Taxation).
Amongst some of its tasks, the following can be mentioned:
♦ The management and development of the financial policy and the elaboration and processing of those provisions relating to financial entities and credit
institutions, securities markets, payment instruments and systems as well as to the traded companies' regime and corporate governance and to capital movements and economical transactions abroad.
♦ Management of the Treasury of State, payments abroad, State endorsements, currency minting and central payment ordination, authorization and control
of the Public Treasury's accounts and management of the General Deposits Savings system.
♦ The analysis, proposal and management of the State's debt and of the financial risks of the State Debt's portfolio as well as the promotion of the distribution and liquidity of such Debt.
