Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA)

Overview:

Founded in 1998, the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA) is the only pan-Asian, not-for-profit trade association dedicated to promoting growth and liquidity in the primary and secondary loan markets of the Asia-Pacific region.

The APLMA is a dynamic organisation that works diligently to represent the common interests of the many different institutions involved in the syndicated loan markets of the Asia-Pacific region. Membership includes banks, financial institutions, hedge funds, law firms, rating agencies, service providers and other professionals active in the syndicated loan market.

The APLMA works closely with its sister associations, the Loan Market Association (LMA) in the UK and the Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA) in the US, to advocate common market standards and practices, with a view to boosting global loan market liquidity and integrating the Asian loan markets into an increasingly globalised loan market.

The APLMA is headquartered in Hong Kong with branches in Singapore and Australia, but is active throughout the Asia Pacific region. The APLMA holds over 45 seminars, conferences, training courses and networking events each year in all the major financial centres of the Asia Pacific region as part of its commitment to enhance industry skills and education and provide members with a vibrant pan-Asian professional network.
