Overview:

Primus Pacific Partners is Hong Kong based private equity fund focused only on financial services that has recently made investments into this industry in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia. It was founded by the 3 senior partners, the former head of Citi’s institutional clients group in the region together with Mr. Huan Guocang and Mr. Ng Wing-Fai (former MD of Fubon Financial, Taiwan). All three were colleagues at Salomon Smith Barney and Citibank in Hong Kong during the 1990s and bring along more than 15 years experience in the Financial Services Sector. The firm started with initial capital of $1 billion. Primus Financial aims to build an Asia-based financial holding company, along with constructing a borderless platform of banking and associated activities (markets, brokerage) as well as insurance companies.
