IBS Insurance and Reinsurance Brokerage Inc. (IBS), a registered insurance and reinsurance brokerage firm, was founded in 1997. Headquartered in Istanbul with branch offices in Ankara and Mersin, IBS services the whole of Turkey with a team of 50 professional dedicated staff.

IBS brings vital change to the client’s insurance structure through professional market search, placement of risks, policy management, and claims handling. Süha Gucsav is the founder of IBS as well as a major shareholder and CEO of the company. Süha has 25 years of insurance industry experience and previously worked for Alexander & Alexander. Süha is also the CEO of Akfen Holding as well as a board member of TAV (Tepe Akfen Vie Airport Management).

Murat Çiftçi, General Manager, joined IBS in 1999 and acted as the reinsurance manager until promoted to Department Head. Murat's areas of expertise are non-Marine/Energy, Marine, Construction, Aviation and Political Risks. Murat has a Bachelor of Science degree with honours from the University of Missouri-Rolla, where he majored in Engineering Management and Industrial Engineering. He also has a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management. In addition, Murat is currently studying for a PhD in Engineering Management. Upon completion of his course at the American Institute for CPCU, he will be granted the degree of “Associate in Reinsurance” (ARe).

Murat handles insurance consultancy for, and placement of, numerous project finance related accounts. He is an active member of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), and a board member of the Turkish-Georgian and Turkish-Kazakh Business Council Executive Committees in DEIK.
