The Beringer Group is a privately held independent advisory firm. We have been working with the owners of substantial privately-held businesses and the heads of affluent family enterprises since 1979. We have helped our clients make some of the most difficult decisions of their lives. Our innovative succession planning, investment services, tax mitigation expertise and access to exclusive private equity networks has helped us provide clients with innovative, objective, and contemporary solutions to a large number of critical issues. In the process, we have helped them avoid catastophic tax consequences, give their businesses and endeavors new life, and provide for their families, their employees and their communities for generations to come.

We are proud to represent business owners and families who have built great enterprises. They provide for their families, their communities and their employees in heroic ways. They often have great advisors, attorneys and accountants. However, due to subtle changes in tax laws, economic trends and personal objectives, they don’t often realize how quickly a hole can form in their planning…a hole that leaves them open to significant risk and lost opportunities. Our job is to fix that hole and make sure our clients meet their goals, avoid catastrophic tax consequences, and get the maximum benefit from their good work. History:

Our firm was founded by Ted Beringer in 1979 as The Mid-Atlantic Companies, Ltd. In the 1980’s and early 1990’s Mid-Atlantic grew to become a nationwide advisory enterprise with offices in many major metropolitan areas. In the late 1990’s our firm’s operations were acquired by Wachovia Bank. Many of our 100+ employees and principals were employed by Wachovia.

In the early years after 2000, the successor firms, Beringer & Company, Strategic Business Advisors, LLC and BC Advisors LLC were formed by the former principals of The Mid-Atlantic Companies, Ltd. Today these 3 companies have become The Beringer Group.
