Overview:
Baker & McKenzie opened its first Belgian office in Brussels in 1957. In 2002, it opened its Antwerp office. Today Baker & McKenzie Belgium has more than 70 Belgian qualified lawyers on the ground. Our Brussels office also serves as the seat of our European & Competition Law Practice.
We provide a full range of services, particularly in the areas of corporate finance, banking & finance, tax, real estate & construction, employment, IT, commercial law, environmental law, IP, dispute resolution, pharmaceutical & healthcare law and food law. We have broad experience and sophisticated capabilities in key market sectors and have been involved in pioneering projects that help drive meaningful development and legal reform in Belgian industry and business.
Baker & McKenzie Belgium is fully staffed by Belgian lawyers, all of whom have an outstanding knowledge of the local legal, business and social environment. Our lawyers are fluent in Dutch, French and English and many also speak other foreign languages. Our European & Competition Law practice is staffed with a multilingual team of specialized lawyers from many different countries.
We train our lawyers to provide practical solutions to legal problems and take full account of our clients’ commercial objectives. We have an uncompromising commitment to excellence that is underpinned by client service principles, standards and training. In order to provide immediate access to specialized knowledge and experience, our lawyers are organized into practice groups, concentrating on different industries and areas of legal practice. The Belgian offices advise a wide range of clients, including some of the largest Belgian and multinational corporations such as international investment banks and other financial institutions, prominent real estate investors, biopharmaceutical companies, branded consumer goods suppliers, petrochemical, mining, chemical and other industrial manufacturers, major ICT equipment and service companies, a cable company, airlines, etc. Baker & McKenzie Belgium also serves a client base of small and medium size companies. |
