Located in the center of a dynamic financial and economic center, our Sao Paulo office serves the firm's Brazilian and other Latin American clients. Gibson Dunn's Brazilian practice has extensive experience with market-leading capital markets transactions, corporate finance assignments and merger and acquisition matters, with a particular focus on energy and infrastructure project finance. The firm also has extensive experience in advising clients on a wide range of other matters in Brazil, including private equity, fund formation, real estate and international arbitration.

For more than 30 years, the lawyers in Gibson Dunn’s Latin America Group have represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including capital market transactions (including ADRs and bonds in U.S. public and Rule 144A transactions); mergers and acquisitions; project finance and infrastructure; multilateral and syndicated loans; debt reorganizations, including consent solicitations and tender and exchange offers; tax matters; litigation and international arbitrations; fund formation; venture capital and other private equity transactions.

The group has represented not only private clients but many governmental institutions as well. Gibson Dunn also has participated in the renegotiation of sovereign debt and has advised both companies and governments in major privatizations and sovereign bond offerings.

The Latin America Practice Group draws on the linguistic and cultural, as well as the legal knowledge, of its members to advise its broad base of international clients. Our Sao Paulo office works as a team with Gibson Dunn's New York office, which has handled Brazilian work for many years. The conjunction of the two offices provides the ideal balance for representing clients in Brazil as well as clients throughout the world with business needs in Brazil and elsewhere in Latin America.
