Overview:
Protection of capital
We regard it as our mission and responsibility to obtain consistent long-term performance for each client, while protecting the assets entrusted to us.
The interests of the client first
We aim to forge a quality, highly-personalised relationship with the client which enables us to fully share his goals and sensitivity to risk. Once this in-depth knowledge is gained, we can take on the responsibility of a discretionary management mandate.
Responsible manager
Unlike most banks, we do not work on a centralised management basis. The manager is personally involved in the asset allocation policy according to the mandate conferred by the client. To this end, he relies on the strategic and ad hoc recommendations of the bank's Research unit in order to adapt to his client’s needs and objectives. In other words, you will be pleased to find a banker who knows you well and acts in your interests, with a full understanding of what is at stake.
Medium- and long-term performance
The management style of Banque Piguet is deliberately different, aiming for medium- and long-term performance while avoiding speculative positions and passing fashions. This know-how is especially sought-after and appreciated during periods of uncertainty and turbulence, thanks to our commitment to the protection of capital.

History:
1856 The offspring of an old Yverdon family, Louis Michod establishes a bank bearing his name in this important location in the canton of Vaud.
1888 Alfred Piguet, Louis Michod's son-in-law, becomes a partner in the bank on the retirement of his father-in-law. The bank is renamed Banque Alfred Piguet & Cie. Confident and warm-hearted, Alfred is popular in his town and on the Grand Conseil, where he is elected Deputy.
1893 His brother Armand becomes a partner in his turn.
1927 A major in the cavalry, Charles is mobilised. Germaine is left in charge of the bank. She also devotes a great deal of energy to humanitarian works, particularly on behalf of the convoys of children from occupied Europe and to help save the commune of Evecy in Normandy. In 1950, Germaine Piguet will receive the Légion d'Honneur from the French President Vincent Auriol.
1945 After the end of the war, the family home on Rue de la Plaine opens its doors to some of the great names in French literature: André Maurois, Georges Duhamel, André Siegfried, Jean Giraudoux. The bank follows the extraordinary growth of the ‘Trente Glorieuses’. Denis, son of Charles, joins the bank. He will become a partner in 1962, and will remain a partner alongside his father until 1977. His brother, Olivier, is a partner from 1979 to 1991.
1987 The bank opens a branch in Lausanne and obtains an offshore banking licence.
1991 Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV) buys 80% of the share capital of the bank, which becomes Banque Piguet & Cie SA and will open a Geneva branch in 1994.
1996 The bank manages assets of 600 million francs. It has a charismatic leader in the person of Pierre Dejardin-Verkinder who, with his team, makes strategic analysis and personalised management the strong points of a philosophy that focuses exclusively on the client. This original vision is carried on despite the premature demise of Pierre Dejardin-Verkinder six years later.
2000 The bank opens a branch in Lugano, Via Balestra.
2004 Charles de Boissezon is appointed CEO. With a cosmopolitan career at HSBC behind him, this Frenchman of Far Eastern extraction, whose grandfather and father were born in Shanghai, has long-standing links with China. His contacts and experience enable him to cultivate many relationships in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
2006 In the year of its 150th anniversary, the bank manages assets of 5 billion francs.
2007 Opening of representative offices in Dubai and Hong Kong. |
