Mission statement:

We aim to be a trusted discussion partner on asset matters.

By selecting our staff carefully and promoting their potential performance through appropriate training, we maintain a high standard of qualification.

Our profit will be used to safeguard the bank's independence.

We are independent; our sole commitment is to our clients and our own business.

We want our clients to recommend us to others because of the acknowledged high quality of our services; we will also extend our clientele by targeted acquisitions.

In all our corporate and operational activities, we firmly believe that ethical and statutory requirements must be respected and socially responsible action taken.

We are proud of our tradition, but our activity is designed for the present and above all the future. That is why we are receptive to important changes which we help to shape.
Overview:

La Roche & Co Banquiers has subsidiaries in Bern and Olten, as well as a representative office in Zurich. It is a member of the Association of Swiss Private Bankers and employs approx. 100 people. More than one quarter of them are dedicated to active client relationship management.
Based in Basel, the private bank has also a subsidiary in Asia since March 2008. This subsidiary based in Hong Kong facilitates the exchange of information and know-how between Asia and Europe and helps to detect new investment opportunities and trends at an early stage.
History:

The house of La Roche & Co Banquiers was founded in 1787 by Benedikt La Roche, making it the oldest bank in Basel. Like other financial institutions in the city, the private bank was previously active in trade. The same open-minded outlook and flair for business relations have been maintained until the present day.
In the late 19th century, Benedikt La Roche became the first Managing Director of the Swiss Federal Post Office. He also played an active part in the financing of the Swiss railways. In 1934, La Roche & Co with Robert La Roche was one of the driving forces behind the inception of the Association of Swiss Private Bankers. Today, as a member of the Swiss Electronic Exchange, the bank has direct access to all markets and information, news and economic databases.
Behind the historic façade of the company's headquarters in "Rothberger Hof" and the "Zur Hohen Sonne" building on Rittergasse, close to Basel Cathedral, the very latest computer technology is used to facilitate the bank’s operations. The experience of this family business down the generations guarantees a balanced relationship between tradition and progress.
