Profile:
Since its founding in 1993, our Prague office has represented a number of both transnational and purely Czech companies in various transactions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. At present, 41 experts, including 5 partners, 26 lawyers, 2 tax advisors and 8 other professionals are operating in the Prague office. Our Prague lawyers speak English, Czech, French, German, Russian, Slovak, Spanish and Ukrainian. Two of our lawyers are entitled to practice in Slovakia and provide legal advisory regarding Slovak law. Altogether, there are 72 people working out of the Prague office.
The Prague office mainly specializes in the following legal areas (within Czech and Slovak law as well as EU law):
mergers and acquisitions, including privatizations, private equity and venture capital;
enterprise restructuring and reorganization;
capital markets;
banking and finance, comprising loans and credit lines, acquisition finance, project finance, global custody, derivatives, financial products and investment funds;
tax planning at national and international level, tax advisory services concerning transactions (particularly in connection with mergers and acquisitions, including the ongoing restructuring after acquisition), as well as direct tax advisory (corporate income tax and transfer valuation), indirect tax advisory (VAT and customs duties) and tax dispute advisory;
litigation, including general commercial litigation and international arbitration and labor disputes;
real estate and construction;
intellectual property, including trademark registration, enforcement of intellectual property rights and measures against piracy and counterfeiting;
labor law;
information technology, electronic commerce, telecommunications and media;
economic competition, unfair competition, consumer protection and personal data protection. |
