Overview:
Established in 1993 as a pioneering PR practice, Strategic Alliance PR became an affiliate of Rowland Communications Worldwide in 1996. It joined Burson Marsteller’s South Asia network in April 2008 to become the exclusive affiliate of Burson-Marsteller in Sri Lanka. It is now a part of Strategic Alliance (Pvt) Ltd., which also has other WPP affiliated business units like Bates 141 and Mediaedge.
The agency derives its strengths from its strong media relationships built over 15 years. Its senior consultants provide strategic counsel and issues management expertise based on their vital local knowledge and contacts.

Leading the firm is its CEO and Strategic Counsel Nimal Gunewardena. A Chartered Marketer & Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, UK. He has 30 years of experience in advertising, marketing & PR and was formerly the CEO of JWT Colombo. Also on the team are Rezani Aziz, the Director / Team Leader and Shamina Mohamed, PR Consultant.
