Overview:
While our regional office in Stockholm opened in 1998, other offices in the Nordic countries opened as early as 1993. Rödl & Partner has been a major European professional services provider in the region for many years.
As one of the major audit and advisory practices of Sweden, we assist both foreign direct investors with their projects in Scandinavia, and Swedish multinationals with the management of their global entities. We offer a distinctly European approach in contrast to the service style of many of our American competitors.
Rödl & Partner is a multi-disciplinary audit, legal and consulting firm dedicated to one goal. We help clients grow their business internationally, increasing the value of their global organisation. We view each client, and each member of our firm, as individuals. A belief in teamwork, quality and personal service is the basis of our corporate philosophy.
The advice you need, when you want it
Founded in 1977 in southern Germany, Rödl & Partner has expanded into 87 offices in about 39 countries. Our growth has been directed by client demand, not our ambition. So we have opened offices only where we need to look after client interests.
Rather than create an artificial network of franchises or affiliates, we chose to set up wholly-owned international subsidiaries. The reason? When we’re handling complex projects spanning dozens of countries, no other structure works as well as dealing with colleagues in the same firm.
Rödl & Partner’s business philosophy is different. We don’t believe our clients’ problems fall into separate, neatly-labelled boxes. Our one-stop concept is based on a balance of expertise across a range of core professional areas. We combine them seamlessly and work in inter-disciplinary teams. When a client brings a problem, we listen first, then put together a team that covers the relevant fields.
We share a natural empathy with entrepreneurial, often family-owned, companies. They value personal service and like to have advisors close at hand. So Rödl & Partner has a one face to the client approach.
A project manager works directly with you, helping on all aspects of the matter in hand, and securing any further expertise the issue demands. It’s an approach we have invested in faithfully because we believe it is the best way to support international businesses.
Many of our advisors are leading figures in their field. When we open a new office, we bring in local expertise as soon we can. Experience tells us we have as much to learn about local business customs as we can teach, and it helps us to integrate more quickly into the community.
As one of the few truly integrated global firms, we continue to grow our presence in all major destinations for foreign investment around the world.

History:
Many of our clients see Rödl & Partner as an ideal partner for their international growth. We have a history which becomes clear to everybody working with us. We’re proud of what we have achieved as entrepreneurs. We believe this is precisely why many true entrepreneurs like our approach.
Rödl & Partner was founded in 1977 in Nuremberg, Germany, by Bernd Rödl, a German solicitor who later also qualified as a German chartered accountant. Dr Rödl, now 66, is a member of the board of directors and an active leader of the German practice.
The firm became a well-known regional and national practice in Germany, expanding into East Germany when the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. We were one of the first West German law and consulting firms to do so. Our first office outside Germany opened in 1989 in Prague, followed by offices in Budapest and Warsaw in 1990 and 1991. Rödl & Partner rapidly expanded across central and eastern Europe. We were the first western law firm in many post-communist countries. Offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Bratislava, Bucharest, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Chisinau, Minsk and other locations followed. Today we have six offices in Poland.
In 1994 Rödl & Partner became the first non-Chinese firm to obtain a license to offer both legal services and accounting services in the People’s Republic of China. Offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing and Guangzhou opened, followed by regional offices in Singapore and Jakarta.
Our expansion in western Europe and the Americas began in 1998 when our first office in Italy opened. Today we have three offices in Rome, Milan and Padova. Offices in the US, Spain, France, Brazil, Switzerland, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, India, Thailand, Vietnam, South Africa and, in 2008, the UK followed.
